How to draw a cluster of flowers (umbel inflorescence)

Step 1 – Draw the ONE guiding line (or shape) of your composition – in this case, a circle. In that circle create the map of your drawing, the structure, in the same way a sculptor sets up a wire frame. Concentrate what you see in simple shapes.

Step 2 – Add more detail, keeping the structure of simple geometrical shapes

Step 3 – Perfect the outline

Step 4 – Add details and shadows to create volumes

Between layers use the kneaded eraser to lift the excess graphite and slightly erase the marks.
Use the hard eraser to erase all pencil marks, only after you finished the ink drawing.
